Dr. Lars Heim

Originally from Braunschweig, I’m currently a doctoral researcher at Clausthal University of Technology and Business Development Manager at the Clausthal Executive School. I completed my Bachelor's degree in business administration at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg in 2012 and subsequently obtained a Master's degree in Marketing at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 2013. I then went through several positions in the economy in the fields of consulting, project management and marketing. In 2016 I founded my first own company, Veggieflash, which marketed a kitchen aid for students. At the same time, I completed an extra occupational Master's degree in Business Psychology, which I obtained in 2017. My doctoral thesis deals with Blockchain-Technology in relation to business models. It is available at Cuvillier Verlag or Amazon. In 2021 I cofounded Aeon Robotics, a StartUp developing robotic automation solutions.

Braunschweig start-up with 2-fold hand robot


Aeon Robotics GmbH, a spin-off of the TU Braunschweig, is making it possible for robots to learn gripping movements directly from humans for the first time. The "handeffector" robot has a robotic hand modelled on the human hand and can detect gripping forces via a built-in sense of force and imitate them using artificial intelligence.

They have invented a robotic hand based on a human model that can be intuitively taught using a control glove worn by humans. Seit ihrer erstmaligen Vorstellung im Zusammenhang mit der Bitcoin-Blockchain gilt die Blockchain-Technologie als eine der Zukunftstechnologien, die einen großen Einfluss auf Unternehmen und ihre bestehenden Geschäftsmodelle haben wird. Trotz der offensichtlich hohen Relevanz dieser Technologie für die Planung und den Fortbestand solcher Unternehmen, finden sich bisher nur wenige wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Ansätze zur Analyse und Strukturierung der Effekte der Technologie aus einer Managementperspektive. Insbesondere stehen die Geschäftsmodelle solcher Unternehmen im Fokus, die als Intermediäre agieren. Unternehmen benötigen einen strukturierten Ansatz, um ihre Geschäftsmodelle auf die Auswirkungen der Implementation einer Blockchain-Infrastruktur im eigenen Unternehmen oder im Unternehmensumfeld zu überprüfen. Zu diesem Zweck wird ein Vorgehensmodells entwickelt, welches eine vierphasige Vorgehensweise, basierend auf einer Kombination und Erweiterung bestehender wirtschaftswissenschaftlicher Grundlagen und Managementmethoden postuliert. Die Teilschritte und Instrumente der Phasen werden inhaltlich entwickelt und anschließend in einer integrierten Illustrations-Mehrfallstudie anhand von vier exemplarischen Fällen intermediärer Unternehmen erprobt und die Vorgehensweise demonstriert.

This chapter examines the concept of data security in a society increasingly shaped by digital technologies. We show how secure data storage can be optimised regarding digital documentation in the implementation of health-related service offers based on established procedures. Security and privacy of data are therefore particularly important in this subject area since highly sensitive data is stored and processed during health-related online consultations. The advent of blockchain technology provides a valuable opportunity to create trust in digital platforms. After relevant concepts and terms have been clarified, the functionality of the blockchain in general, as well as the different types, will be discussed. From this, options for the use of online consulting are developed and illustrated on the basis of three use cases.

Analysing the Impact of the Implementation of a Blockchain in an Existing Business Model

Blockchain technology offers great potential for companies and the number of start-ups whose business models are based on this technology is growing rapidly. However, for many companies already active in their respective markets, the question arises as to whether and how this technology is relevant to their individual business model and what effects an implementation in the company or in the corporate environment would have. These questions can be answered with the help and modification of existing methods and tools. In this paper, we present the method of business model stresstesting, which, with certain adjustments, can help to answer the question of the impact of Blockchain technology on an existing business model. This will help to actively shape and evolve the ecosystem emerging in the area of Blockchain technology. The implementation and further development of the technology based on specific requirements from the business environment is thus facilitated and accelerated.

Trust through Digital Technologies: Blockchain in Online Consultancy Services

This paper examines the concept of trust in an increasingly digital society on the one hand and how it can be established with regard to digital documentation of online help services on the other. Trust is particularly important in the sector of digital services sector because requests and offers for help, and thus highly sensitive data, are offered, processed, and used on various online channels. With the advent of blockchain technology, there is a new central opportunity to create trust on digital platforms such as those used for online help services. After clarification of relevant concepts and terms, diverse forms of the blockchain technology are explained on the basis of the individually specific configuration of a blockchain. The main emphasis lies on federated blockchains which provide the central advantages of blockchain technology while avoiding the risk of passing on sensitive data. This results in a possible use of the technology for the area of digital services.
